The Adventure

It’s hard to believe Wahine Strong just started a month ago. The blitz of energy and support has been overwhelmingly positive and we’ve loved every single second!

The idea for Wahine Strong was inspired by the recent Women’s March, where millions of people joined  together in solidarity to protect our families, our health, and our freedom. As we watched the news coverage from here in the islands and around the globe, it was amazing to see people, from all walks of life, ages, and ethnicity, collectively rise up and take a stand for women. The issues represented were as diverse as the marchers, but the resounding message was clear: don’t mess with us - women matter.

Wahine Strong is about empowering women like you by showcasing the ways we rise up to face our challenges and succeed. For some it means teaching and inspiring children each day, or caring for and nurturing your keiki and leading the home front. For others it’s the constant masterful juggle of work, family, and having a life. Or it’s the daily challenge of pumping out those burpees, miles, or holding that awesome downward dog pose. Wahine Strong is the individual path for each of us but also that sense of sisterhood and connection that only women can understand. Our mission stands, Wahine Strong is the essence within our hearts and knowing that nothing can break your spirit. Together we find a sense of strength and connection to be fierce, to inspire change and to love.

We’d love to hear your stories of how you’re living Wahine Strong - feel free to email us and/or send a photo to info@wahinestrong.com and remember to tag us in your posts #wahinestrong too

In my teaching experience, formidable relationships are established when students are able to see themselves in their teachers and teachers are able to relate to, identify with, and value a student’s culture.  These bonds strengthen a student’s will to persevere through adversity.

This car rolls by and a flash of teal catches my eye. Could it be the moment I’ve been hoping for? My FIRST random siting of a Wahine Strong sticker? Not a friend or family member I’ve pressured into join my adventure, but a true random siting?
